Meet the team behind the Lexington Education and Partnership Academy.
Demetria is passionate about providing opportunities that tap into the creative spirit of young people. Her efforts to connect people, projects, ideas, and opportunities to motivated youth are essential to the work of the LEAP Academy. Through collaboration and capacity building, she seeks to promote learning in a way that gets youth excited about learning and captures the creativity that will inspire the next generation of leaders. Demetria has served on the Board of Directors for Lexington PAL, Inc. served as a mentor with the Lexington Police Activities League, AmeriCorp (Athletes in Service), and continues her work in Special Education.
Gary is committed to helping youth reach their academic and career potential. His motivation stems from his work experience as a teenager. Then, he learned life skills, business etiquette and positive social interaction in the community. Now, his desire is to connect the limitless resources and opportunities with today's youth. By staying true to his core values of Faith, Family, and Hard Work, he continues to inspire the next generation of leaders. Gary has served as a mentor for Read to Succeed, FaithWeavers, and the Consolidated Summer Enrichment Program. He has volunteered with the Salvation Angel Tree program, Gods Pantry and continues to serve in the community.
